چکیده

An expression is proposed for determining the error made by neglecting finite sample effects in entropy estimates. It is based on the Ansatz that the ranked distribution of probabilities tends to follow a Zipf scaling.

If the low energy cross section for He + p → He + e + νe, the ‘hep’ reaction, is ∼ > 20 times larger than the best (but uncertain) theoretical estimates, then this reaction could significantly influence the electron energy spectrum produced by solar neutrino interactions and measured in the SuperKamiokande, SNO, and ICARUS experiments. We compare predicted energy spectra for different assumed h...

Recent developments in the analysis of finite temperature dissipationless transport in inte-grable quantum many body problems are presented. In particular, we will discuss: (i) the role played by the conservation laws in systems as the spin 1/2 Heisenberg chain and the one-dimensional Hubbard model, (ii) exact results obtained using the Bethe ansatz method on the long time decay of current corr...

The dominant electroweak double logarithmic corrections to the process e + e − → f ¯ f at high energy are found in all orders of perturbation theory. In contrast to results in simple Yang-Mills theories these corrections do not exponentiate.

We examine a recent claim that Debye screening will affect the charge transport mechanism of anomalous electroweak baryogenesis, and show that the effects of gauge charge screening do not affect the baryon number produced during a first order electroweak phase transition.

Measuring the finite width and unitarity corrections to the φω mixing amplitude. Abstract It is shown that the phase of φω interference in the reaction e + e − → π + π − π 0 at energies close to the φ(1020) peak can be calculated in a way that is practically independent of the model of φω mixing. The magnitude of the presently measured interference phase, still of poor accuracy, is in agreement...
